How changing mindsets can launch your midlife career change

We do not live in our parents generation where we stayed in a job for life and retired. We live in a time where we can make choices & reinvent ourselves. We do not need to stick with the same job, especially if we are empty, unhappy & unfulfilled in it.

Making a change is OK & takes courage, doubly so in midlife. Retraining can be a deep barrier for many, but is doable.

If you have the will, know what you want & can make a change it will happen for you with planning. This is your life, you are at the helm ~ so steer your damn ship to the stars baby. Don’t stagnantly wallow in the buts and ifs ~ you are half way there & deserve to kick serious ass! Find something you love & suddenly it is no longer a job but a path your heart will gladly guide you on.

You can take steps to conquer your fears and self-doubt so you can accomplish your goal of changing your career. That feeling of overwhelm & the fear of uncertainty is what keeps most people from moving forward.

Try these steps:

🔸Value your time over money ~ this will help you maximize your opportunity to succeed & avoid stagnation.

🔸Build your network ~ let people know you are thinking of making a change & start connecting with people in the area you want to move in to.

🔸Believe it is possible ~ If you want to overcome your fears & self-doubt associated with changing your career at midlife, you are going to need to talk to people who have successfully managed a career change.

🔸Leave your comfort zone & put yourself out there. Step out of what you know & attend industry events. Often people stagnate because they can not overcome this fear & are stuck.

You can do this if you truly want it & you owe it to yourself to boldly step into your life.
