Here are some thoughts on what to do when you have a bad boss - you do not have to put up with it and please remember you are in the driver's seat:

🌟 The most valuable thing in order to get out of a bad situation is our ability to change how we look at it - you are in control - how can you reframe the situation?

🌟 Always take the high road but never be intimidated!

🌟 On the flip side - having a poor boss can ultimately inspire great accomplishments. Ask yourself what is the growth opportunity?

🌟 Working with a boss that does not work for you also offers you the opportunity to learn new communication skills. Ask yourself how you can improve to help the situation, if that is even possible and give your boss a chance and talk to them about the issues - your boss may not even be aware

🌟 Before you start planning an exit strategy, it would be wise to rethink how you can better manage the boss you already have – for all their flaws and shortcomings - can you up-manage your boss? Can you work around their weaknesses?

🌟 If all avenues end up going nowhere - ask to be assigned to a different department or report to someone else

🌟 Your final move after truly working with the person and situation is to make the decision to leave the company and go somewhere where you are respected and supported

At the end of the day remember to resist gossiping, do not get drawn into their negative stories, do the work and do not be a target, keep detailed records and never accept being bullied! This is your one precious life and you are in control!
