An Inclusive Community = Abundance
"Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible” — Virginia Satir
Inclusive Mindset
Being inclusive means including everyone, regardless of someone’s race, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, and religion – and specifically those who have been historically excluded
Being inclusive also means open-mindedness and empathizing with others’ experiences
It can allow us to look within and explore our own backgrounds and biases and what action we can take to improve our mindsets - this can be a hard one if we have not taken stock for a while
We all deserve to be heard and to be seen and when we are our light is illuminated - very brightly and enough to be shared abundantly so start sharing your shine sista!
Social belonging is a fundamental need and our mental well-being is impacted in an immensely positive way if we feel a sense of community and connection through ourselves and others
At the end of the day when we experience belonging and inclusion, we are able to be our true and authentic selves
So remember:
Words Matter
Join Groups - stay connected
Meet people where they are
Respect everyone as we are all on different journeys
Reflect on our own biases, identify barriers and always improve, improve, improve and shine and share!
Acknowledge and recognize each small success as we work toward a more inclusive environment
We can all be the change if we all understand what being inclusive truly means and how we can connect with our community on a more deep level
