How living in the past keeps you stuck

I do this all the damn time & yet if you asked me I would say I live in the present & don’t think too much of the past. Well that’s hog wash lol. 

We all do this from time to time, some way more than others, but we do. The secret sauce is to not dwell, not linger over chapters long closed, do not deliberate in the ‘what if’s’. 

This will trap us in a loop and if we are not careful decades will dissolve & we are still getting tripped up. 

Here are a few things to consider when you find your brilliant mind sipping at past memories. 

🎈Acknowledge first why you want to move on, what are you holding on to, why. How will your life change if you let go? How will you feel in a new chapter without this past issue? 

🎈Next identify your emotional habits, this takes deep introspection & is damn hard, but once you identify what your limiting beliefs are, how you live your life, where you live emotionally, you can start to actively shift towards more positive experiences. 

🎈Condition your mind ~ breakthroughs in your life happen when you are in the right state. So learn new strategies & build empowering stories to replace the old negative ones. Surround yourself with positive folks to thrive, create new rituals to build momentum & this will lead to change. 

🎈Finally, like I have said in previous posts, ‘give back’. Find something greater than yourself & serve that. Giving back is the ultimate in grounding you in your authenticity.
