The Stories We Tell Ourselves…

Midlife is the best time for waking the F up, reinventing oneself or just saying hello to the real you finally. 🌟

I struggled for many years trying to connect with my authentic heart & continued to follow the path expected of me. The path that said “hold a 9-5 job, be a present & kick-ass mama, cook delectable meals, get on your knees and scrub the floor (ok I drew the line there), participate & volunteer in school activities, look pretty, watch your weight, have regular sex & enjoy it (lol), be interesting”, blah blah blah.

You all know the story. The story that we are fed and the story that we adopt for ourselves…for years! It’s just a story & we are our own narrators. We can control the narrative. We can rip up the pages of a crap story. We can dream & get all sassy & start writing our true kick ass tale.

Well…my story sucked & midlife hit me like a ton of cold hard bricks & I said NO. No fn way. I’m done. I am going to create a new story & follow my heart and open a flower shop 🌸 and so I did!

This is a snap of me in my happy place at Christmas before Covid. Holding all those fragrant greens & grinning like an insane happy elf 🧝🏻‍♀️

I did it. I ditched the scrappy crap story of a mom/wife doing the mom/wife stuff that kept me in an uphappy lane. I burned that book (metaphorically of course as I do not believe in burning books) and lept.

So get clear with the story you are telling yourself. If you don’t like it, rip it up. Start a new story. Start living the life you want. Take baby steps but just start. Write a line or two a day or a week but just start rewriting. Soon enough you will be thriving as the badass midlife woman you are!!

One day I may open my studio again but for now I get to talk and work with amazing women like you. I am writing an even better chapter of my story as a midlife Coach & am the happiest I have ever been! Check out my flower studio if you want @bloom_bloom_room

Happy hump day & get writing your new story!
